Divertissement D'Auber (II)
Divertissement D'Auber (II) is an expanded version of the original Divertissement D'Auber pas-de-trois, which premiered in San Francisco on February 19, 1960 (world premiere was in Vallejo, California on January 6, 1959), with Lew Christensen adding to this original choreography in 1963, with the pas-de-trois as the central section of the piece. The work is set to music by François Esprit Auber from overtures to Bronze Horse, Crown Diamonds, Fra Diavolo, and Black Domino with costumes by Tony Duquette. The images in this section are from a performance in 1966 featuring Joan DeVere, Robert Gladstein, Lynda Meyer, and other San Francisco Ballet dancers.
