Jinx Page 1/2
Lew Christensen's Jinx originally premiered with Eugene Loring's Dance Players on April 24, 1942 with the subsequent premiere in San Francisco in 1949. Along with Filling Station, Jinx is considered to be one of Lew's most significant works. The work was set to Benjamin Britten's Variations on a Theme by Frank Bridges. The images in this section come from the 1966 performances with David Anderson and Robert Gladstein dancing the title role of the juggler accused of causing mishaps with a touring circus group with dire consequences. This production also included designs by Russell Hartley.
