Lew Christensen's Life: A Do-It-Yourself Disaster (A Pop Art Ballet) premiered on January 30, 1965 at the War Memorial Opera House, San Francisco, set to Charles Ives's musical piece Halloween and the Pond. Scenario for this work was by Herb Caen (journalist for the San Francisco Chronicle) with scenery/costumes by Cal Anderson. The work is set into four movements: Incipiency, Virility, Maturity and Resignation. The images in this section are from a 1966 performance.
